This photograph barely begins to convey the magical experience of walking through the gorges between the Olgas (Katajuta is their Aboriginal name). It was a magnificent day and we had the trail all to ourselves, adding magic to the atmosphere. A rare bush called Spear Grass grows here, the stems of which are ideal for making spears. Unfortunately, it was becoming rarer due to tourists collecting samples so shortly after this photo was taken, the area was closed to protect the vegetation.
