These Cabbage Palm trees are said to be hundreds of years old and are very rare, in fact they are numbered and are not known to exist anywhere else. The 'road' to Palm Valley in the Northern Territory is actually the bed of the Finke River. It is a challenging and demanding track at the best of times but well worth it.
