I am thinking of getting one of these cool contraptions. Are you going to do a review for your listeners? I know there are many out there but I would trust yours more judging from your podcast content.

I will certainly think twice about the choice of carrier, maybe they have sorted themselves out now?

Great episode Joe, not sure if you intended the last bit to be funny but I cracked up, not at your misfortune but at the way you related the events.

I hope things are better for you now, I saw the TV ads for the iPhone, although I'm not a gadget guy like you, I do like the look of it and will check one out in person as soon as I get a chance.

A chap at work has one of these beauties, he complains about the battery not lasting long but he's on the bleeding thing all day listening to music, watching movies, playing games and checking his email.

No wonder the battery life is an issue. :sc_dontcare:

Great podcast this month Joe, tell us more about the gadget, I saw an advert on TV, it was actually the ANZ bank showing it off and a service it offers on the iPhone.

Hey Jimbo, I think I'll check one out too, my Sony Ericsson is getting a bit long in the tooth, I think I'll steer clear of Telstra and their big-butted sales girls though. :sc_bigsmile:

Laughed! Sorry Joe, as James said, not laughing at your misfortune with Telstra but you have a very entertaining way of relating a story.

I suppose that's why you make the show and we listen to it!

(I wonder if people think my behind is too big for my furniture?)

Hi all, just tripped over this site by accident and decided to stay and listen to this podcast. Very enlightening and I suspect the saga is not over yet?

I hope your telco get their act together soon, it is a testament to your intelligence and faith in the Apple product that you are pissed off with Telstra and not Apple. I also understand that you don't get the visual voice-mail feature in Australia? I think Apple should have been more insistent before they allowed anyone to service the iPhone with plans that don't include all of its advanced features.

    Hi Joe
Well done on a very entertaining forum. I have heard snippets of this saga from you in person, but nevertheless I was still entertained.

That's good Tony, we always try to keep the listeners entertained. The saga is not over yet, there's more absurd silliness to report but I won't waste another episode on it. :sc_lick:

Hello Joe - my name is Arty, I live in regional victoria and I went with Telstra too, mainly because I had little choice if I want coverage at home. I wish I had not bought the iPhone, not because it is a bad phone, as a gadget it is fantastic and it's lots of fun but there's not the range of plans offered by Telstra as there is with other providers.

I agree, bl**dy Schmelstra have ruined it for me too :-(

It's more than a phone as far as I'm concerned. It's a divergence of many tools and gadgets all in the one unit.

We have to carry a phone these days, that's a given, but to also have email on the device (I have 3 accounts on it) access to the internet (I use Google for research all the time and Maps when I need to know where I am) and a host of other utilities is simply fantastic.

And then there's the games, I'm not usually a big gamer but these things are addictive and pass the time on the train to and from work.
