I have been using OmniWeb 5.6 on your site, and it works like a charm, too.

Like Safari, OmniWeb is based on the WebKit framework, so 95 times out of 100, you'll find that where Safari works, so will OmniWeb.

And some advanced features of OmniWeb are particularly useful to Web page authors or demanding Web browser users, where you can select certain browser behaviours like disabling select plug-ins, changing user agent identification type, or selecting which images to not upload. Very nice features that I like to use to get rid of annoying content, that either chew up CPU and memory use on your computer, or make excessive use of your network bandwidth.

Thought I'd add to this in your list of recommended browsers. Cheers!

    Hello Tonza,
Great to hear from you after so long. :sc_cu:

Yes OmniWeb used to sit on my system and often got used but these days I'm very happy with Safari and the occasional session with Firefox for testing.

As for recommendations, the people here seem to want a browser to just work, work well and be simple and unobtrusive. In my book, this is the ideal description of Safari and everyone I've converted to it seems to agree, even Windows colleagues at work are using it more and more. They especially comment on how fast it is but compared to IE, paint drying is fast.

    I love Safari too!

When I am on a strange computer without it I hate the experience, all those buttons all over the place and complicated icons and toolbars and ugly layout really give me the creeps.

Firefox I can live with but it's Safari for me, all the way.

    Emma.

I use Safari at work on Vista when nobody is looking because they tease me, calling me an Apple Fangirl.

Not sure what that means, I suppose I should get brave and stand up for our team but honestly I can't be bothered with the Neanderthals. :ani_zzz:
